1. What is a Family Style Dinner?
Family Style Dinners are recommended for 6 or more guests. We’ve uploaded menu samples for inspiration, including BBQ, Indian, Mexican, and Costa Rican (Tico) options.
2. Can I book a BBQ for fewer than 6 people?
The BBQ price is ideally for 6+ guests per person, but smaller groups are possible. A custom quote can be provided upon request.
3. Can I mix dishes from different menus?
Yes! You can mix and match dishes from different menus to create a menu that fits your group’s tastes.
4. What does “Chef for a Day” include?
With Chef for a Day, I’ll be in your kitchen—or mine—preparing meals for a full day: breakfast, lunch, beach snacks, and dinner. Every meal is crafted from scratch and designed for sharing.
5. Are Workshops and Classes suitable for kids?
Absolutely! Workshops and classes are designed for both kids and adults, and each session is customized for the audience. For example, the Christmas Cookie Decoration workshop is perfect for kids but requires a large enough kitchen for all participants.
6. How can I order Dishes for Delivery?
Dishes for delivery are announced weekly on Instagram @chefyayo. Portions are designed for one person and come ready to eat and enjoy at home.
7. Where is Chef Yayo available for retreats and events?
I’m available for retreats in Nosara or anywhere in Guanacaste. For events elsewhere in Costa Rica or abroad, travel is possible, with additional travel expenses quoted as needed.
For most meals, workshops, or Chef for a Day experiences, booking 3–5 days in advance works well. For special occasions, like Christmas, Thanksgiving, or New Year’s Eve, it’s best to book weeks or even months ahead to secure your preferred date and menu.
9. Can dietary restrictions or allergies be accommodated?
Yes! Menus can be customized for dietary restrictions, allergies, or preferences—just let me know in advance.
10. What equipment or space do I need for Chef for a Day or Workshops?
A functional kitchen is required. For workshops, especially hands-on classes, a spacious kitchen is preferred so all participants can comfortably cook and decorate.
11. How are the meals delivered?
Dishes for delivery are packaged individually and ready to serve. Delivery is arranged locally, and timing will be confirmed when the order is placed.
12. Can I request a specific menu or dish not listed?
Yes! Custom menus and special dishes can be requested. We’ll provide a quote and confirm availability.
13. Do you provide drinks or beverages with meals?
Drinks are not included by default, but can be added upon request—perfect for retreats or private events.
14. How long does Chef for a Day service last?
The service covers a full day of meals, from breakfast through dinner, including beach snacks. Timing is flexible and can be adapted to your schedule.
15. Can workshops or meals be hosted outside of Nosara?
Yes! I can travel for private events, retreats, or workshops, but travel expenses may apply for locations outside Nosara or Guanacaste.
